He was elected in 2006, and has written several books, including Compassionate Consveratism, Compassionate Economics and The Big Society. He is also a member of the Treasury Select Committee, Founder of the PFI Rebate Campaign and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Employee Ownership.Ben GummerConservative MP for Ipswich, which he won in the 2010 general election by the largest Conservative majority in Ipswich since 1935. He is a member of the Justice Select Committee and the Regulatory Reform Select Committee. He describes himself as a libertarian and has spoken strongly on penal reform and freedom of speech.Jacob Rees-MoggConservative MP for North-East Somerset, having been elected in 2010. He was President of the Oxford University Conservative Association, and has juggled business and politics. The blog Conservative Home has rated him one of the party's most rebellious MPs.OPPOSITION:Emily ThornberryLabour MP for Islington South and Finsbury since 2005. Her main political interests are health, housing, the environment and equality. In 2008, she helped organise the votes of progressive MPs in the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, and is vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Choice and Sexual Health Group. In October 2011, she was appointed Shadow Attorney General.Chris BryantLabour MP for Rhondda since 2001, a result that surprised many people, as he is a former Anglican vicar and was a Conservative as a student.
